I have always been a fan of Mani Ratnam films, but there was something about this film that bored me.
Mani’s reinterpretation of one of the epics has got to be one of his worst films to date. The references to the Ramayana are way too obvious, right from Surpanakha’s nose pinching, Sita’s abduction to Govinda’s dialogues. Everything is forced on the viewer.
Aishwariya’s was the best performance by far.
A visual treat, a musical delight but the narrative was a big let down. If you have little knowledge on the Ramayana then you may want to check it out.

The only thing watchable for me in Raavan was Aishwarya. She looked stunning.
